Job Overview

The Construction Manager will play a critical role in executing the construction strategy across Mac Haik Restaurant Group’s (MHRG) portfolio. This position will oversee all phases of new builds, remodels, and capital improvement projects while ensuring alignment with brand standards, timelines, and budgets. The Construction Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive the successful delivery of high-quality restaurant environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Real Estate, Design, Operations, and Finance teams to evaluate site feasibility and inform project planning.

  • Manage relationships with general contractors, architects, and vendors, ensuring accountability, quality, and timely execution.

  • Oversee the full construction lifecycle for new restaurant builds, remodels, and capital projects, from pre-construction through closeout.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, permitting requirements, and brand construction standards across all projects.

  • Develop, track, and manage construction budgets, schedules, and contingency plans to ensure financial and operational targets are met.

  • Monitor construction activity in real-time, providing regular updates and project insights to senior leadership.

  • Support value-engineering efforts and design development, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

  • Conduct regular site visits to evaluate progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project expectations (regional travel required).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in construction project management, including multi-unit retail or restaurant builds; corporate restaurant group or hospitality industry experience preferred

  • Previous experience managing large-scale construction projects or working with cross-functional teams

  • Strong understanding of restaurant-specific requirements (kitchens, MEP systems, health codes)

  • Skilled in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, etc.)

  • Excellent communicator, negotiator, and organizational planner

  • Willingness to travel for site visits and accommodate a hybrid schedule for field days
