Lead Bartender - Montesacro Walnut Creek

Located in Walnut Creek, Montesacro is a modern Roman pinseria rooted in tradition and driven by hospitality. Since opening in 2023, we’ve introduced Roman pinsa to the United States while building a warm, welcoming space for our community.

We are currently seeking a Lead Bartender to join our team - someone who brings leadership, creativity, and a deep passion for hospitality and beverage.

As Lead Bartender, you are not just executing service - you are setting the tone of the bar, elevating the guest experience, and mentoring the team around you.

Responsibilities
Guest Experience
Lead by example in delivering warm, attentive, and intuitive service
Create memorable bar experiences and build a strong base of regulars
Maintain and enforce consistent steps of service across the bar team
Handle guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism and care
Leadership & Team Development
Train, mentor, and inspire bartenders and bar support staff
Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing bar culture
Work closely with management to uphold standards and drive improvement
Beverage Program & Product Knowledge
Maintain deep knowledge of cocktails, spirits, amari, wine, and menu offerings
Contribute to cocktail development and seasonal menu changes
Ensure all team members are educated and confident in product knowledge
Guide guests through thoughtful recommendations tailored to their preferences
Operations & Accountability
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar environment
Ensure compliance with all house policies, procedures, and health standards
Oversee inventory, prep, batching, and bar organization
Uphold standards for timing, presentation, and execution
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years bartending experience, with leadership experience preferred
Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, and Italian aperitivo culture
Passion for hospitality and creating genuine guest connections
Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented
Positive attitude with a strong sense of ownership
