Role | Regional Technician (North)

Location |  North - Multi-site coverage 

Salary | TBD 

Contract | Full-time 

Job Purpose 

The Regional Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of equipment across multiple sites within the region. Working closely with site-based technical teams and under the guidance of the Technical Manager, the role focuses on maintaining high operational standards, supporting site technicians, monitoring performance metrics, and driving proactive planning, auditing, team development, and strategic technical initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Plan and coordinate all technical works with the Technical Manager at least 2 weeks in advance. 
  • Monitor and improve site-level performance metrics including Games per Stop (GPS) and overall gaming performance. 
  • Lead or support fault resolution across sites, including escalations from site technicians and QAMF. 
  • Implement and manage proactive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan. 
  • Carry out facilities audits twice annually and snap audits every two months. 
  • Identify and resolve recurring system faults across the group. 
  • Ensure all equipment and venues are functioning optimally and consistently. 
  • Oversee stock of critical spare parts and essential operational supplies at each site. 
  • Provide company-wide support via phone or site visits, including weekends and bank holidays. 
  • Deliver and support training sessions (1:1, team, or roadshow) to upskill on-site teams. 
  • Ensure each unit has adequate trained staff for day-to-day maintenance tasks. 
  • Participate in technical projects, audits, and installations as required. 
  • Assist in managing departmental budgets, track spending, and make cost-efficient repair/replace decisions. 
  • Read and manage site P&Ls and understand the financial impact of technical work. 
  • Conduct KPI reviews and support technician performance management in collaboration with the Technical Manager. 
  • Fulfil any reasonable technical requests made by senior management. 

Key Skills & Experience 

  • Proven experience in a technical or engineering role, ideally within the gaming, leisure, or amusement industry. 
  • Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Confident working with electrical systems, plumbing, joinery, and general facilities. 
  • Comfortable reading wiring diagrams and technical manuals. 
  • Experience managing or mentoring technicians and developing team skills. 
  • Familiarity with site-level financial reporting and budgeting. 
  • Effective planning, prioritisation, and organisational abilities. 
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Other Requirements 

  • Full UK driving license (or local equivalent) and willingness to travel frequently across regional sites. 
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required. 
  • Adherence to health and safety procedures, especially when working with moving parts or technical systems.
