OUR EXPECTATIONS
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee our organization’s financial statements and internal financial reporting. This position will be responsible for internal financial reporting, external reporting requirements, vendor management, processing invoices and ensuring timely and accurate payment deadlines. Our ideal candidate will be a key leader who can perform technical accounting research and work with other departments to develop policies and procedures that will enhance internal controls over financial reporting and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for assisting with the preparation of the monthly and quarterly executive management reporting package
· Consolidates financial statements for internal and external use
· Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
· Prepares monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
· Resolves inter-company out-of-balances to ensure proper elimination and completes consolidated equity roll-forward on a monthly basis
· Assists with the financial reporting and accounting components of the external audit
· Analyzes, researches and drafts position papers on new and proposed accounting, reporting and disclosure standards issued by the SEC, FASB and eventual IRS regarding the Company’s position and impact on the Company.
· Supports acquisition/divestiture reporting requirements and performs ad-hoc projects as needed
· Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly external financial reporting packages
· Collaborates with other financial reporting department personnel to efficiently and accurately produce deliverables
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA preferred
· 2-3 years of AP experience
· Minimum of 5-7 years’ related experience in accounting
· Retail, Food, Beverage industry, preferred
· Proficiency with MS Office Suite, (excel or Word) SAP systems, Restaurant 365 (preferred)
