About the Role

The Cream Cheese Production and Equipment Maintenance Associate is a unique dual-function position at our Marietta, GA facility. This role blends hands-on cream cheese production with frontline equipment maintenance responsibilities, making it ideal for a versatile, mechanically-inclined individual who thrives in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

You will play an essential role in both the day-to-day production of high-quality cream cheese products and the ongoing reliability of our production and packaging equipment. From mixing and filling to troubleshooting machinery and performing preventive maintenance, you will be a critical contributor to the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our facility.

Essential Responsibilities
Production Operations

  • Measure, mix, and blend ingredients following established cream cheese recipes and formulations.
  • Operate, adjust and monitor mixers, pasteurizers, and filling/packaging machinery to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) protocols.
  • Ensure all finished products meet safety and quality standards before packaging, storing and shipping.
  • Fill, label and inspect packaging for defects and remove defective products from the production line.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and production areas according to strict sanitation schedules.
  • Dispose of waste and byproducts properly, following facility protocols.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Setup and operation of processing and packaging equipment. This includes basic troubleshooting and upkeep of the equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair high-speed packaging equipment, including conveyors, sealing equipment, labeling machines, and automated production systems.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on control systems, motors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment as needed.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair documentation, and preventative maintenance records.
  • Perform general facility maintenance including basic plumbing, electrical, and structural repairs.
  • Identify and report safety risks, equipment concerns, or operational improvement opportunities.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with heavy production machinery.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, control systems, and related equipment.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional second shifts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, adaptability, and willingness to contribute wherever needed.

Preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a continuous food manufacturing environment.
  • Technical training, trade school certification, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, bakery manufacturing, or similar production environments.
  • Refrigeration system troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
  • Mechanical background preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements

  •  Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods on concrete or hard surfaces.
  •  Regularly required to use hands, arms, and fingers to handle, reach, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment.
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance or mechanical support.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 18 feet using ladders or elevated platforms.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and temperature-controlled environments.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity required to operate machinery, read gauges, and perform quality inspections.
  • Tolerance for working in environments with variable temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to manufacturing materials.
  • Safe use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance tools required.
  • PPE required in designated areas. Company provides tools and a well-equipped work environment.
