We’re Premier Foods Wholesale, one of the UK’s largest independent wholesalers and supplier with 250+ years of experience in the food industry. Established in 2002, we’re a proud family-run business located in New Covent Garden Market in the heart of London.


We have the exciting opportunity to join our Purchasing team as a Purchase Ledger Clerk. 


Job Function:


The Purchase Ledger Clerk’s primary responsibility is to be involved in the practical duties of business bookkeeping. Process purchase orders, invoices and expenses, assist with cash management and bank reconciliation as part of the finance team. Accuracy and attention to detail are key for professionals in this role.

 

As an Accounting Clerk you will be working both alone and as part of a team with efficiency and commitment to complete your work and strive to maintain the business performance targets.


Principle Responsibilities:


·       Logging, maintaining and filing invoices

·       Payment authorisation

·       Payment processing

·       Posting and monitoring petty cash

·       Investigating purchase ledger queries

·       Creating company reports

·       Liaising with suppliers

·       Maintaining the accuracy of vendor details

·       Processing personal and company expenses

·       Assisting with queries and reporting

 

Skill Requirements:


·       Knowledge of different accounting systems

·       Attention to detail

·       Knowledge of accounting terminology

·       Experience with pertinent different filing systems

·       Ability to keep various accounts straight and organised by project or personnel

·       Understanding of what information accountants need in order to do their jobs

·       Mathematical skills

·       Administrative skills

·       Organisational skills

·       Communication skills

·       Prioritisation skills

·       Data entry

·       University degree in applicable required

·       A hardworking and committed ethos

·       Positive, resilient individual with a can-do attitude

·       Team player


The Role:

This role is 45 hours per week.

Monday to Friday (office hours).
