A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Pastry Chef De Partie AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

  • Pastry Preparation & Service
  • Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and plated desserts in line with hotel standards
  • Assist with daily mise en place and service for restaurant, banqueting, and event operations
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all pastry offerings
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines

  • Quality & Standards
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation at all times
  • Ensure ingredients are fresh, correctly stored, and rotated
  • Assist with menu development, seasonal dishes, and special event menus

  • Food Safety & Hygiene
  • Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
  • Follow HACCP procedures and allergen controls
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe pastry section
  • Ensure correct labelling, storage, and stock rotation

  • Teamwork & Communication
  • Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and food & beverage teams
  • Support and guide junior kitchen team members when required
  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth and efficient service

  • Stock & Cost Control
  • Assist with stock checks, ordering, and waste reduction
  • Use ingredients and equipment efficiently to support cost control

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • A passion for culinary excellence and a drive to create memorable dining experiences.
  • Proven experience in a busy kitchen, ideally in a Pastry Chef de Partie role or similar.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle high-paced service with ease.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail when it comes to plating and presentation.
  • Team spirit, supporting the brigade to keep standards high and service smooth.
  • Dedication to cleanliness, food safety, and upholding health regulations.
