Role: Night Porter

Location: The Queens Hotel Cheltenham

Reporting To: Reception Manager

Role Overview:

The Night Porter is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the hotel during night-time hours. This role involves providing excellent customer service to guests, managing late-night check ins and check-outs, and handling any issues that arise overnight.

Key accountabilities:

• Welcome and assist guests arriving late at night, ensuring a warm and professional service.
• Handle check-ins and check-outs during night hours.
• Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service.
• Prepare the breakfast as required and assist the night Supervisor/ Manager as needed.
• Prepare set ups for tables and/or room service.
• Follow cash handling procedures.
• Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.
• Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
• Comply with local licensing laws.
• Be environmentally aware.
• General cleaning for public, toilets, back of house areas.
• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.

Desired Skills and Education:

• Proven experience within the hospitality industry.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Motivated, results orientated and capable of working independently and as a part of the team.
