About the job

We are looking for a Head of Property Acquisitions to identify and sign the best new coffee shop locations.

We’re the world’s first prison-based coffee company, on a mission to reduce reoffending rates by creating employment opportunities for prison leavers. You’ll be responsible for managing our property pipeline, identifying and signing the best new coffee shop locations.

This role would suit an experienced real estate professional with a deep knowledge of London retail real estate and a strong track record of completing transactions for similar operators.  This is a particularly exciting time to join the Redemption Roasters team! Having just closed a funding round, our next phase of growth will include an extensive retail rollout over the next three years.

This is a 0.5 FTE role based at our HQ offices in King’s Cross. Please note this is not a remote job - the whole team is expected to work from our offices when not travelling etc..

You can learn more about us on Instagram @RedemptionRoasters and at https://www.redemptionroasters.com/

What you’ll be doing

  • Grow Coffee Shop Network: Lead the expansion of RR's coffee shop portfolio.
  • Site Selection & Acquisition: Identify and secure strategic new locations.
  • Expansion Strategy Advice: Provide insights on site selection and market opportunities to leadership.
  • Lease Negotiations: Achieve favourable terms for leases.
  • Deal Facilitation: Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain expansion momentum and finalise deals.
  • Market Analysis: Assess site potential for customer traffic and retention.
  • Technical Setup Coordination: Oversee the preparation and suitability of new locations.

What You Will Need to Show:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Real Estate, or Hospitality, with a preference for Real Estate Certification.
  • Industry Experience: At least 8 years in hospitality or retail site acquisition, with a proven track record of successful site selection for similar businesses.
  • Negotiation Skills: A demonstrable ability to negotiate favourable terms.
  • Site Selection Acumen: A discerning eye for sites that match brand aesthetics and the wisdom to prioritise quality over quantity.
  • Real Estate Network: A well-established connection within the commercial real estate market.
  • Specialty Insight: An understanding of the unique requirements of a specialty coffee shop operation.
  • Analytical Skills: Competency in using company models to evaluate the long-term success of potential sites.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing multiple acquisition projects simultaneously.

At Redemption, you’ll receive:
