Job Title: Catering & Events Director

Reports To: Director of Operations

Salary: $80k + commission

Roberta’s is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and experienced Events Director to lead our events and catering operations. This role is central to the planning, coordination, and execution of all on and off-site events, as well as group dining and happy hour bookings. As the Events Director, you’ll oversee the full event lifecycle from client inquiry through post-event follow-up while ensuring every detail aligns with our brand and delivers exceptional guest experiences. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for clients, collaborate closely with restaurant management, and take ownership of the administrative and strategic functions that support our thriving events program. This is a dynamic leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment that can juggle multiple tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in event planning, catering, hospitality management, or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Resy, OpenTable.
  • Ability to manage and update digital calendars and databases effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule, including availability during peak event times and any location

Responsibilities and Duties:  

  • Respond to event inquiries via phone, TripleSeat, and email to provide comprehensive planning details to guests within 24 hours 
  • Prepare BEOs and custom menus, advise on menu selections, post confirmed events, update calendars
  • Lead the formatting and production of on-site event materials such as menus, signage, and programs.
  • Maintain and update event calendars; communicate timelines and requirements with restaurant management and staff.
  • Assist with service during events as necessary 
  • Assist with large catering order delivery 
  • Manage the day-to-day workings of the Events/Catering Department 
  • Update menus, information packets and floor plans as they change 
  • Field inquiries and execute group catering on and off-site 
  • Prepare and compile data for monthly forecast, strategic sales plan, various monthly reports, annual goals and other reports 
  • Oversee and manage all group dining and happy hour reservations across multiple National locations.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure outstanding service and repeat business.
  • Assess client needs and create tailored proposals, quotes, and event concepts.
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts and invoices to secure event bookings.
  • Supervise event logistics from planning to execution, ensuring each event meets brand standards and client expectations.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical documentation for effective team coordination and historical recordkeeping.
  • Review and approve external communications, including marketing materials, menus, and website content.
  • Provide hands-on leadership during events to ensure smooth execution and exceptional guest experiences.
