We’re hiring a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at our modern brewery site in Blandford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance engineer / shift engineer looking for a stable, long-term role with no night shifts, strong benefits, and genuine career development.

What you'll do as Shift Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems (steam, compressed air, hydraulics, cooling, water systems)
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards (PSSR, LOLER)
  • Complete calibration schedules and regulatory checks
  • Support continuous improvement and reduce downtime
  • Diagnose faults quickly to maintain production
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS / IT systems
  • Promote health & safety best practice on site

The skills and experience you'll need – Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer
  
  • Minimum 3 years engineering experience (FMCG, food, beverage, or manufacturing)
  • Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Steam systems
    • Hydraulics
    • Compressed air
    • Cooling systems
    • Water systems
  • Hands-on skills: welding, fabrication, bench fitting
  • Knowledge of engineering compliance (PSSR, LOLER)
  • Ability to prioritise maintenance tasks and manage workload
  • Good IT skills (MS Office / maintenance systems)
  • Team player with a proactive approach
