Description

Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh is seeking a confident, vibrant and knowledgeable Reservations Manager.


You will report to the Hotel General Manager responsible for managing the reservation process and operations in the property to meet financial targets for the property. You will work closely with the revenue management team to implement pricing strategy.

A Reservations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Manage related reservations systems to ensure correct configurations and full working capacity
  • Analyse no-shows and cancellations to improvise procedures to rectify situations
  • Build and maintain relationships with guests through customer relationship programmes
  • Operationalise compliance management on reservation policies and procedures, and legal requirements
  • Identify risk response activities to manage system downtime
  • Manage room inventory to maximise occupancy
  • Resolve situations arising from overbooking of room inventory
  • Support budget forecasting processes for the department
  • Manage departmental costs to keep operating expenses within budget
  • Develop innovation and productivity plans to improve reservation operations and service delivery

To be successful in the role of Reservations Manager, we require:

  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Hospitality related qualification preferred but not essential
  • Proficient IT user
  • Opera Cloud PMS experience desirable (full training given)
  • Excellent customer service skills
