Description
Onda is seeking an experienced Line Cook.

Onda is Santa Monica Proper’s signature restaurant which marks a global collaboration with Jessica Koslow (Sqirl, Silverlake) and Gabriela Camara (Contramar, Cala). These award-winning, tastemaker chefs draw from California and Mexican flavors, techniques and ingredients in the open kitchen, at the bar, and on the table. The art-filled lobby lounge is an intriguing setting for light bites, a deep dive on small-batch mezcals, and boutique wines by the glass.

Job Overview

- Cook and prepare all menu items in accordance standards set by the Chef
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food on the line
- Prepare and portion food items prior to service
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
- Answer, report and follow instructions from the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with guests and colleagues

Requirements

- 1-2+ years of similar experience in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Proactive attitude with strong organizational and time management skills
- Work flexible schedules and willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Collaborate with Colleagues cross-departmentally
- Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Work cohesively with Colleagues as part of a team
