Onda is looking for a Backserver. Onda is Santa Monica Proper’s signature restaurant which marks a global collaboration with Jessica Koslow (Sqirl, Silverlake) and Gabriela Camara (Contramar, Cala). These award-winning, tastemaker chefs draw from California and Mexican flavors, techniques and ingredients in the open kitchen, at the bar, and on the table. The art-filled lobby lounge is an intriguing setting for light bites, a deep dive on small-batch mezcals, and boutique wines by the glass.
Job Overview
- Knowledge of all the ingredient details of every dish on the menu
- Ensure food is brought out to guests at the right time, looking precisely as the Chef intended
- Deliver food to guest quickly and efficiently
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and front of house staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant or café
- Customer-oriented approach and patience
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent people skills
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- Work flexible schedules and willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Collaborate with Colleagues cross-departmentally
- Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Work cohesively with Colleagues as part of a team
