Restored to its former glory, The George Hotel has proudly sat on Colchester High Street in Essex, close to the City’s Castle, for over 500 years. It has always been at the center of bustling life in England’s oldest recorded town and with historical artefacts, medieval cellars dated back to AD60, period features and beautiful beams; it really is one of a kind and a place to remember! Guests are welcomed to a lavish stay in our beloved hotel full of charm and history, invited to sleep in one of the 49 heritage rooms or suites with emperor beds or the 44 modern rooms of St Nicholas’ House. All rooms are full of designer touchers and period features you would expect form a hotel of this age.

Guests can enjoy cocktails, local draught lagers and ales and an extensive wine list from the contemporary bar. Dine in the relaxed two-tiered restaurant that offers a daily a la carte menu inspired by British and worldwide cuisines, using locally sourced and seasonal produce. To be a successful part of our food & beverage team you will need;

* A positive, can do attitude towards all customers and other team.

* Thirst for knowledge toward learning all things food and drink related, learning about spirits, wines, cocktails and the “perfect serve” to each customer

* A willingness to learn about different food styles and service, learn the menus and understand how to explain each dish to a customers

* Great communicator that enjoys interacting with customers in a lively, fast paced environment
