Staff Accountant

The Sicilian Butcher is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our Financial Controller in overseeing key financial operations within our rapidly growing restaurant group.

This role would be perfect for a Staff Accountant with Heavy A/P knowledge or a Rock Star AP Clerk who is looking to advance their career and grow into a full-cycle accountant role.

This role will be responsible for managing accounts payable processes, recording of daily sales, bank reconciliations, inventory, and accounts receivable.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Phoenix, Arizona.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage Accounts Payable processing approved invoices in the accounting system and properly processing payments to vendors; ensure intercompany balances are properly accounted for and effectively managed.
• Reconcile and record sales that are imported from the restaurant point-of-sale system.
• Bank and vendor reconciliations
• Ensure all accounting data is processed timely, reconciliations are current, fixed asset balances and retail inventory balances are within target and facilitate the month-end close process with the accounting team.
• Work with the Brand Controller and Director of Finance as needed.
• Be an active and engaged participant at the table by bringing ideas, suggestions, and solutions.
• Others duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Required: Associates Degree or better in business, accounting or hospitality
• Required; Hospitality experience, hotels, restaurants, clubs, multi-family, senior living, etc.
• 18 months minimum experience in Accounts Payable in a medium-sized business with 500+ invoices per month.
• Multi-Entity experience preferred.
• Accounting Software Knowledge: Sage Intacct preferred. Yardi Voyager, M3, SAP or similar acceptable. Quickbooks experience is not sufficient.
• POS Knowledge: Toast is preferred. Aloha, Micros or similar is acceptable.
• Banking: Chase Connect is preferred. Other Banking EFT platforms is acceptable.
• Inventory Management: Craftable is preferred. Crunchtime, Simphony or similar is acceptable.
• Experience using AI software
• Helpful Excel Knowledge to have: XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH/MATCH, INDIRECT, UNIQUE, VSTACK, Array formulas, Pivot Tables, Formula Tracing, minor VBA coding.
• Willing to grow, learn and participate in the full-cycle accounting process.

May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes. Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced working environment. Must be able to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non- sedative state.
