Our Ideal Cafe Department Manger will be:

Reporting to the Director of Operation/General Store Manager

Qualifications required: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Prior management
experience required.

The position of Cafe Department Manager requires the employee to have initiative and be
highly self-motivated. A knowledge and passion for food, quality and customer service is
essential. Knowledge of Safe Food Handling procedures is required.
As a Manager you are required to support and assist the Director of Operations to
maintain the retail and other sections allocated to a high quality and hygienic standard and
provide exceptional customer service as per company guidelines. You will be also required
to assist in the café as required by the Director of Operations .

Your duties include:
• Provide exceptional customer service in a friendly, informative manner across to all store
customers.
• Ensure immaculate presentation of Bakery and Coffee Cafe areas.
• Ensure staff represent the brand to the highest level of professionalism and are in uniform
at all times.
• Maintain strong product knowledge across all retail areas.
• General cash handling and register operation with a high degree of accuracy.
• Closing of store and balancing of registers where required.
• Generate retail store orders each week within the prescribed budgets.
• Assist with general banking, maintaining petty cash and related reporting as required by
the Operations Manager.
• Assist with scheduling of retail staff as required by the General Manager.
• Provide training for retail and other front of house staff that work within the retail area.
• Proactively participate in any retail sales initiatives or budgets established within the
store.
• Perform in store tastings & sampling.
• Maintain store visual merchandising displays and promotions in line with company
standards.
• Recording and checking incoming high risk products to ensure standards of quality.
• Rotating and restocking shelves with incoming stock as required, ensuring immaculate
presentation of stock.
• Manage product & inventory orders within prescribed store budgets and receipt against
incoming invoices.
• Assist with the management and completion of stock take and stock level verification as
required.
• Generate and ensure correct signage, price tags and labeling of products.
• Monitor/record daily refrigeration temperature checks and use by dates/ quality of stock
on hand.
• Maintain hygienic & clean service areas at all times and completion of daily duties and
cleaning schedules.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• A commitment to ensuring the health and safety of the work site through compliance with
the occupational health and safety practices of the company.
• Light scheduling, inventory and payroll preparing responsibilities
• All other duties as required by the Director of Operations from time to time within the ambit of
this role.
