Description
Job Summary: Director of Special Events will manage customer inquiries and are the point-of-contact for all event details. The position oversee the collective coordination of all event information and resources, and are responsible for account management, sales prospecting , business development and overseeing the events team.

Essential Job Functions:
• Achieve budgeted revenue for Food & Beverage Special Events Sales for the calendar year.
• Work with clients in all aspects during their planning stages as well as onsite coordination for upcoming events to include all administrative aspects and communication.
• Prepare, implement and compile data for strategic sales plan and annual goals.
• Establish a great working relationship with clients, building trust with key stakeholders to stay informed of overall client satisfaction and business changes/developments
• Establish business and client contacts in the greater Los Angeles Area.
• Essential hospitality standards must be used at all times: enthusiastically recognize guest per the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group standards including using eye contact, smiling, ability to engage in polite conversation and maintain professional appearance at all times.
• Creatively develop and execute signature events including logistics, budget management, on-site coordination, vendor management and post-event analysis
• Identify, select, negotiate and oversee contracts with vendors
• Collaborate in establishing minimum and maximum space availability that are competitive and offer the highest yield for the restaurant to ensure maximum profitability
• Perform sales projects for market research to support marketing plans, event planning packages, and lead distribution to ensure maximum occupancy and client satisfaction for all accounts.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Education: College Degree preferred

Required Experience:
• 5 years experience in marketing, forecasting, budget management and planning and executing large-scale, high-quality events.
Preferred Experience:
• Financial and Sales experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Use discretionary judgment in dealing with confidential subjects and sensitive issues and maintaining confidentiality
• Strong interpersonal skills, and comfort working with a diverse client roster, vendors and event staff personnel
• Ability to take initiative without being prompted and work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong customer service skills; ability to tactfully handle phone calls, filter as appropriate and redirect to other sources if necessary
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft suite applications, Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio
• Analytical abilities sufficient to handle most complex clerical functions
• Solid organizational skills and attention to details
• Must have the ability to handle high business volumes, multi-tasking, all the while maintaining composure.
• Creative but strategic thinker with strong decision making skills and an analytical eye
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Open availability - this is a full time position which requires days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
