The Role: Senior Accounts Assistant

The Location: South Place Hotel, site based

The Salary: Up to £35,000 pa

Contract: Full time

As D&D London’s first hotel, South Place Hotel is quite rightly something special: boutique, luxurious, and fresh-faced. Described by Wallpaper magazine as ‘Miami via Moorgate’, the hotel has 80 guest rooms, a Michelin-starred Angler restaurant as well as South Place Chop House, and five bars. With an array of meeting and event spaces as well as the stunning Secret Garden and rooftop terrace overlooking the Capital.

A bit about what you will be doing:

We are looking for a methodical finance professional to join the finance team at South Place Hotel. This role supports the Financial controller in maintaining effective controls over and the reporting of Income Audit and Cashiering. You will assist in daily administration of accounting tasks whilst ensuring Internal Controls are kept to the highest standard. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile POS revenues (OPERA / Quadranet) to PMS (Iplicit) and investigate and rectify any variances, daily
  • Record Covers & Rooms statistics
  • Check and reconcile No Sales/Voids daily
  • Check and reconcile management bills daily and given to Hotel GM for approval, daily
  • Reconcile Conference and Banqueting revenues with daily function sheets
  • Reconcile and check all F&B and OPERA Corrections/Allowances 
  • Investigate and correct any credit card and voucher discrepancies on a daily basis 
  • Complete daily Banking Summary
  • Reconcile banking with OPERA and Iplicit
  • Resolve all credit card chargeback letters on a daily basis
  • Check all vouchers and intercompany transfers
  • Send BACS payments to the team on a daily basis.
  • Support and advise on financial and commercial matters to the financial controller including the interpretation of financial data.
  • Challenge practices and implement proposals from the financial controller regarding operations, business issues and financial control.
  • Assist financial controller with any ad hoc month end tasks.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a finance function with a hotel
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and methodical approach to work
  • Commercial acumen and industry knowledge is a must
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent communication skill
  • Experience in internal auditing and reconcilling
  • Knowledge of our systems would be an advantage - Opera Cloud, Iplicit, Quadranet, and Fourth
