Overview

This position will play an integral role in the accounting for key business areas, account reconciliations and income statement variance analysis to produce timely and accurate financial statements for a growing publicly traded company (NASDAQ: STKS). We are looking for an individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow their career with our company.

Responsibilities

1. Directly and/or indirectly supervise a team of 1-4 accountants and play a key role in managing our business process outsourcing firm.
2. Responsible for key areas of the month-end close process, including the review and preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis.
3. Main point of contact for all P&L questions from restaurant operators.
4. Identify and recommend business process improvements to automate manual processes and accelerate the month-end close process.
5. Execute work in accordance with SOX compliance for accounting functions and update SOX documentation for areas of responsibility.

Knowledge and Skills

1. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
2. Good verbal and written communication
3. Strong analytical skills
4. Team spirit – willingness to assist wherever needed
5. Work style – ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment

7. Advanced excel knowledge

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
2. CPA recommended.
3. 4+ years of accounting experience required.
4. Supervisory experience required.
5. Public accounting experience preferred. Big 4 a plus.
6. Strong General Accounting skills and GAAP knowledge with experience in month end close.
7. Advanced knowledge of Excel required.
8. Can prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
9. Candidates must have excellent communication skills (oral and written), the ability to interact with all levels of management through the organization and the initiative to get the job done.
