Overview

This position will play an integral role in the accounting for cash and other key business areas, account reconciliations and income statement variance analysis to produce timely and accurate financial statements for a growing publicly traded restaurant company (NASDAQ: STKS).  We are looking for an individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow their career with our company.

Essential Functions

  1. Primary areas of responsibility include:
    • Accounting for cash and credit card deposits
    • Placing cash change orders and following up with restaurants on cash variances
    • Accounting for third party delivery service accounts (Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc.)
    • Accrual accounts such as utilities, restaurant operating expenses, property taxes, etc.
  2. Analyze income statement accounts for necessary accruals and prepare associated journal entries
  3. Prepare monthly account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts
  4. Execute usual accounting functions, which includes month-end close work
  5. Execute work in accordance with standard operating procedures and adherence to internal controls

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  2. Effective verbal and written communication
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  4. Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  6. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other team members
  7. Exercise sound professional judgment
  8. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
