Procurement Manager:

The Role:

The Procurement Manager will pair strong organizational skills with a true appetite to source and execute strategic partnerships with farms and manufacturers to foster long-term relationships to support a dramatically growing business. A successful Procurement Manager will demonstrate attention to detail, a dynamic personality, urgency, adaptability, critical thinking and strong negotiating skills to drive long term value proposition, both internally and externally.   

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee purchasing program for all categories including food, non-food, chemicals, beverages, smallware’s and equipment.
  • Discover and on-board profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
  • Negotiate, benchmark, and conduct RFPs to secure competitive pricing.
  • Oversee the details for product changes and new menu roll outs
  • Establish buying and inventory management processes with Suppliers and Distributors.
  • Communicate, track and summarize product recalls/withdrawals
  • Liaison between operations and Suppliers around quality, service, or credit issues.
  • Maintain proactive communication channels to support Restaurant locations and operations teams.
  • Conduct price verification and item changes accordingly with both internal and external partners and systems.
  • Work with leadership to drive cost saving initiatives and efficiencies.
  • Identify trends and forecasts to support volumes swings due to new items or seasonality.
  • Create quality controls to ensure manufacturers adhere to company’s product specifications.
  • Create contingency plans to avoid supply interruption across the system
  • Remain updated with industry trends, commodity changes, and sourcing best practices.

 

The Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Purchasing, Distribution or Supply Chain Management within the food service, restaurant or hospitality industry
  • Computer knowledge required (Microsoft Office)
  • 2-4 years’ experience with distributors in food & beverage industry, a plus
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize and plan effectively
  • Alert to needs of the organization, team members, and guests
  • Must be able to work independently and/or part of a team
  • High energy with a positive, servant leadership attitude
  • Unwavering commitment to our Mission and Values
  • Project management experience, preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain a stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
