Senior Vice President, Supply Chain:

As our Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for providing strategic supply chain direction and support to a fast-growing restaurant group as it relates to procurement, distribution and restaurant enterprise systems. At CAVA, we pride ourselves on sourcing top caliber products, technology systems and distribution partners from best-in-class suppliers. We put our guests first and always strive for the best possible guest experience, and by partnering with key distribution partners and implementing the best restaurant enterprise systems, we provide all of our stores the access they need to deliver a best-in-class experience to our customers nationwide. 

The VP of Supply Chain will report directly to the Chief Manufacturing & Supply Officer and will oversee a high-performance team. This role will be integral to building scalable infrastructure and processes that will take us to the next level as a brand. Frequent travel to our facilities and vendor partners will be required as needed.  

The ideal candidate for this role brings a strong passion for food and obtains the leadership skills and strategic thinking to promote positive structural change and is not afraid to challenge the status quo. We are looking for someone with extensive experience with a medium to large restaurant chain, and proven results with supply chain strategy implementation as it relates to scalability and efficiency.


What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop supply chain strategy that supports and aligns with overall corporate strategic direction, financial objectives and customer expectations. 
  • Deliver a bottoms-up approach to food cost management including budgeting based on market and commodity pricing forecasts. 
  • Oversee comprehensive supplier RFI/RFQ/RFP contracting process 
  • Develop technology platform that delivers real-time KPIs to supply chain performance and distribution consistently reviewing and evaluating supply chain processes and relationships. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal requirements, quality, safety guidelines and standards. 
  • Manage strategic priorities and multiple opportunities to find the best way of creating long-term success.
  • Utilize tools such as problem reframing, alignment, and idea generation to search for superior solutions for our guests; teach Directors across the company how to do the same
  • Develop diversity-focused success metrics as an essential business strategy
  • Build an organization that sets aggressive goals and achieves results outlined in their department’s Key Initiatives
  • Encourage leaders across all departments to focus on organizational outcomes instead of the team outcomes to drive business success
  • Create an environment that supports innovation and reasonable risk-taking without sacrificing work that is necessary for widespread success
  • Evaluate our emotional responses to success and shortcomings; seek ways to improve those responses

The Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in related discipline, post graduate degree, preferred 
  • Demonstrated success with supply chain consolidation and/or large-scale distribution changes 
  • Experience managing 100+ vendors  
  • 10+ years Food or Beverage/Restaurant industry experience 
  • 7+ years of experience in a leadership role, growing and developing a team 
  • Strong professional knowledge in all aspects of supply chain  
  • Previous experience in NetSuite or related supply planning systems preferred 
  • Conceptual thinker who can move from strategy to tactical implementation seamlessly. 
  • Skilled in negotiating and proven record of business acumen 
  • Strong management skills in dealing with internal and external customers 
  • Ability to lead a team through continuous change 
  • Attention to detail with a strategic, big picture mindset 
  • Good spoken and written communication skills and comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization 
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and quickly changing priorities

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
