Communications Coordinator

As the communications coordinator, you will play a key role in the development and growth of CAVA’s Corporate Communications function. This role helps shape communications strategy, develops tools to inform, influence and inspire the CAVA’s stakeholders, and takes a leadership role in key internal and external communications programs and initiatives. The communications coordinator works closely with the Vice President, Corporate Communications, and the company’s external PR agency, as well as with the Marketing, People & Culture, Creative, Operations Services, and Finance teams. Success in this role will be demonstrated by effectively delivering the company’s messages, meeting partners’ needs, and building and executing organized and efficient programs and processes.

What You’ll Do:   

  • Closely partner with VP, Corporate Communications to plan and implement communication strategies
  • Craft messages and materials for internal audiences, working closely with the People & Culture and Operations Services Teams; edit materials developed by business partners
  • Develop external communications materials, including press releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, image banks, b-roll, etc.
  • Lead local PR initiatives, including new restaurant and market openings
  • Oversee communications platforms and tools; accountable for the delivery and distribution of communications materials; own and manage the company’s digital newsroom
  • Monitor and report on emerging issues, trends, and the success of PR initiatives, in close collaboration with the Marketing and Social Media teams
  • Support day-to-day logistics and interaction with outside agencies and consultants
  • Gather and organize data, information, and assets in support of communications strategies and initiatives
  • Recognize and nurture the personal, emotional stake each Team Member has in the success of the organization
  • Manage timeline expectations within and across teams; deliver on responsibilities accordingly

 

The Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related role
  • Demonstrated success in developing clear, compelling, and on-brand messaging and materials
  • Proven ability to create and manage effective communications initiatives in a corporate or agency environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, demonstrating clarity of thought, ability to influence, and skill in adopting appropriate tone of voice
  • Track record of collaboration and positive, productive relationships with multiple internal and external partners; experience working with consultants/agencies a plus
  • Passionate, dedicated, and hungry to learn, with a personal reputation for kindness, honesty, and integrity
  • Exceptionally organized, efficient, and detail oriented; gracefully manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office and various PR, social media, and employee communications platforms and applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, journalism, marketing, or a related field

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
