Director, Learning + Development :

  • The Director of Learning and Development leads the design, strategy and implementation of field training programs and procedures. This person leads a team that innovates, creates, and implements new training techniques and enhances current learning systems.
  • What You’ll Do:
  • Create high quality, scalable learning experiences for a diverse audience of hourly Team Members and salaried Managers
  • Create a culture of continuous learning in the restaurants
  • Maintain, evolve, and track systems for our Train the Trainer programs
  • Maintain and develop new systems and training for the Academy Restaurant program
  • Measure success by tracking key performance indicators to determine effectiveness of current and future training programs
  • Continuously develop new, cutting-edge learning systems
  • Innovate new ways to engage Team Members in learning
  • Create a maintain department and project budgets focusing on ROI
  • Work closely with restaurant operations leadership to evolve current training
  • Conduct an competency based needs assessment to tailor training programs to these needs
  • Drive CAVA values and mission through all training courses


The Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Has implemented and managed a Learning Management System
  • Five or more years of experience leading a Learning and Development Team
  • Five or more years managing and growing a team; demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring team members
  • Five or more years of experience in digital and manual design
  • Background in or knowledge of restaurant operational training
  • A passion for food, people and storytelling
  • Knowledge of Custom learning solutions for adult learners and a diverse learning audience (LMS and SCORM)
  • Extensive experience with Articulate Storyline 2, Captivate or other eLearning development software
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with instructional design models (ADDIE or SAM)
  • Knowledge of project management software (Monday, Airtable, etc)


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
