Learning & Development Coordinator (this role requires 3 days/week in our DC office)

The Learning + Development Coordinator supports the successful execution of field training programs that sit within Flavor Your Future, ensuring smooth placement, onboarding, and follow-up for all new restaurant leaders entering CAVA training pathways. This role manages the operational logistics behind new-hire training—including scheduling, assignments, travel coordination, and cross-functional communication—to ensure every new leader is fully prepared and supported before, during, and after their training experience.

What You’ll Do:

New Hire Placement + Training Logistics (Including Travel + Operations)

·       Place new restaurant leaders into appropriate Training Restaurants based on capacity, geography, timing, business needs, and skill fit for their Flavor Your Future training track.

·       Coordinate schedules, assignments, and program details; ensure alignment between new hires, Training Restaurant Operators, Field Leaders, Recruiting, and People + Engagement.

·       Manage end-to-end travel and operational logistics for new hires attending off-site or multi-week Flavor Your Future training programs.

·       Serve as the primary point of contact for new leaders regarding pre-training logistics, expectations, and requirements.

·       Maintain strong relationships with Training Restaurants and identify opportunities to optimize placements and program flow.

New Hire Support + Program Administration

·       Conduct structured check-ins with new hires during their Flavor Your Future training.

·       Collect and synthesize feedback from new hires and Training Restaurants and support continuous improvement.

·       Assist in tracking training progression, readiness indicators, and required completion milestones.

·       Support Enterprise L+D program execution through administrative tasks, reporting, and communication coordination.

Reporting + Communication

·       Build and distribute weekly reports related to training placement, field capacity, and program progression.

·       Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

·       Support proofreading and quality review of restaurant-facing learning communication.

The Qualifications:

·       Two or more years of experience in Learning + Development, HR coordination, training operations, project coordination, or related field.

·       Experience coordinating travel, scheduling, or multi-step logistics preferred.

·       Strong organizational and project-management skills.

·       Excellent communication and cross-functional partnership skills.

·       Comfortable analyzing data and presenting insights.

·       Professional presence with restaurant field partners and corporate teams.

·       Prior experience in restaurant operations or training preferred.

·       A passion for food, people, and creating exceptional learning experiences through Flavor Your Future.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  •  For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
