Job description

The Role:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be an integral part of the Finance team reporting to the Finance Manager. With the corporate office based in the City of London you will be joining the current team of 5 finance professionals in a role that will be diverse, challenging and offers an excellent opportunity for career and professional development.

The Finance team is responsible for all internal management reporting and external statutory requirements for several Group entities. Operating entities include the SUSHISAMBA and Duck & Waffle restaurants and bars in the City, SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden and SUSHISAMBA Las Vegas. A licensed restaurant, SUSHISAMBA Dubai opened in 2021, the brand’s first Middle East location with more openings planned for 2022 including SUSHISAMBA Riyadh and a SUHSISAMBA beach club in Qatar.

The primary responsibilities for the role include ownership of accounts payable and cost of sales reporting for the UK operating entities including invoice processing, preparation of the weekly payrun, inventory reporting, accuracy of the monthly cost of sales P&L reporting together with ownership of high-level controls over the completeness and accuracy of accounts payable and accrued expenses such as supplier statement reconciliations, daily and monthly bank reconciliations and accruals reporting.  The successful applicant will be integral with month end reporting and be expected to drive and promote process and control improvement.

Your Responsibilities

·       Accuracy of accounts payable including invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliations and preparation of supplier pay run.

·       Cost of Sales reporting.  This is a key metric with operational with significant senior management focus.  Reporting accurate monthly food & beverage cost of sales for the UK operating entities and licensed restaurants.

·       Ensuring completeness and accuracy of invoices matched to purchase orders in the purchasing system (ADACO).  Liaising with the purchasing manager or goods receivers to resolve any issues or errors.

·       Daily bank reconciliations.

·       Monthly food and beverage inventory reporting, stock counts, waste reporting etc.

·       Accruals reporting

·       Assistance with monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and management reporting.

·       Process and control improvement and ad-hoc projects.

We are looking for a dependable and determined finance professional with at least 1 years relevant experience working within a finance role with a company of a similar or higher turnover per annum. You will be part qualified and studying towards attaining a professional qualification with a recognised accountancy body. We will provide the professional work experience. You will be career orientated, driven and highly motivated to succeed in your role and develop into more senior roles within Finance or the wider business.
