The Role
The Sushi Sous Chef will work directly under the Head Sushi Chef and Senior Sushi Sous Chef. Sushi Sous Chef must be able to assume the Senior Sushi Sous Chef’s responsibilities in his/her absence. While the Sushi Sous Chef may help out with menu planning and ordering, the primary responsibility is to help manage the staff and make sure that food is prepared, plated and served properly and efficiently.

The Requirements
As a Sushi Sous Chef we would love you to have:
- Valid Food Safety certification
- 1 year minimum kitchen supervisor and/or management experience preferred
- In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
- The skills and knowledge to include culinary education, cost control, communication skills, basic computer skills, organizational skills, guest contact experience and culinary teaching skills and knowledge
- Strong understanding of purchasing, receiving, inventory control and stock rotation
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must possess a high level of maturity, dependability, and punctuality
- Ability to educate and demonstrate fundamental and advanced cooking skills

The Restaurant
SUSHISAMBA celebrates the culture and cuisine of Japan, Brazil and Peru. The menus are a mix of new and signature dishes with an emphasis on bold flavors, the finest ingredients and artful presentations. SUSHISAMBA additionally has oversees locations in Las Vegas, London, Dubai and Doha.
