The Arts Club is a distinguished private members' club located in Mayfair, London, founded in 1863, as a haven for those with a professional or amateur relationship with the Arts, Literature or Sciences, and it has continued to welcome a community of discerning thinkers and thought leaders ever since. Over the years, it has attracted renowned artists, writers, and cultural icons, including Charles Dickens, Thomas Hughes, Paolo Tosti, Charles Halle, Frederic Leighton, Auguste Rodin and James McNeill Whistler.

It continues to be a home away from home for many such creatives, entrepreneurs and innovative thinkers. It provides a serene space for individuals to come together to meet, exchange ideas, dine and participate in an extensive cultural programme, comprising panel discussions, exhibitions, studio and gallery tours and music performances.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Bar during your shift, keeping the Head Bartender informed of any guest feedback, VIPs, stock levels, and other relevant matters throughout the day. Maintain the highest level of professionalism and consistency, always striving to exceed member and guest expectations.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Lead by example, ensuring the bar is clean, well-stocked, and ready for service. Maintain impeccable personal hygiene and presentation.
  • Be fully knowledgeable about all drinks on the menu, including cocktails, spirits, and wines, to confidently assist Members and Guests.
  • Follow bar opening and closing procedures as outlined by the Head Bartender or Bar Manager.
  • Take and serve orders promptly and professionally, ensuring accuracy and speed.
  • Use product knowledge to upsell and enhance the guest experience.
  • Accurately process transactions and ensure Members/Guests are billed according to Club procedures.
  • Handle sensitive guest information with discretion, especially regarding preferences and billing.
  • Read and contribute to the Daily Log to ensure smooth communication and service continuity across shifts.
  • Report any guest issues or complaints to the Head Bartender or Duty Manager as needed.
  • Coordinate with Reception and other departments regarding guest preferences or special occasions.
  • Support colleagues and other departments to deliver a seamless and exceptional experience for Members and Guests.
  • Adhere to all Club policies, including those relating to health, safety, fire, hygiene, and security.
  • Attend required training sessions and meetings, and take initiative for your own development.
