Description

The Front Server owns the guest dining experience within their assigned section. This role leads service on the floor and ensures every table receives warm, attentive, well-paced service that reflects casual Italian hospitality. Front Servers are expected to master the menu and guide guests seamlessly through their meal, serving as the primary point of hospitality and coordination for their section.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own the entire dining experience for assigned tables, including guest engagement, menu guidance, pacing, and overall satisfaction.

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the food and beverage menus — ingredients, preparations, and flavor profiles — to confidently guide guests and make tailored recommendations.

  • Present menus clearly, answer guest questions, and drive an engaging dining experience from seating to final departure.

  • Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns proactively and gracefully on the floor.

  • Direct and coordinate with support staff (Bussers, Food Runners) and kitchen/bar teams to ensure smooth service flow, table maintenance, and timely execution.

  • Manage table pacing in real time based on guest behavior, kitchen capacity, and service conditions.

  • Handle table check-ins and any service nuances calmly and with sound judgment.

  • Maintain composure, focus, and teamwork during high-volume peak service periods.

  • Communicate clearly and proactively with FOH leadership, kitchen, bar, and host teams regarding timing, special requests, and guest preferences.

  • Follow direction from managers and shift leads promptly, helping execute adjustments to service, sidework, or floor organization as needed.

  • Maintain section readiness, cleanliness, and table presentation before, during, and after service.

  • Uphold front-of-house service standards, presentation, and hospitality expectations at all times.

  • Support opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures as assigned.

Your Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Front Server or lead Server in a full-service, high-volume, or Italian-focused restaurant preferred.

  • Strong ability to learn, speak to, and sell food, wine, and cocktail offerings with confidence.

  • Excellent understanding of table pacing, service flow, and fine-tuned guest interaction.

  • Proven leadership on the floor with comfort directing support staff during busy shifts.

  • Exceptional communication skills, strong situational awareness, and high attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift 60 pounds or more.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the dining room for the duration of a shift.

  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
