Catering Sales Assistant


Description
As the Assistant to the Catering Sales Manager you are a critical player in daily execution of catering orders. You are the minute by minute contact for guests once they have placed an order. Daily, you oversee each order for your team ensuring no detail is overlooked and every opportunity to go the extra mile is taken. You are highly professional when speaking with clients and work as a team with the catering production team, sales managers, and fellow sales assistants.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have superb written and verbal English communication skills.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to the needs of the business, early mornings and late nights, the occasional weekend.
Must have a naturally outgoing personality with the ability to cold call and introduce yourself to anyone.
Must have exceptional organizational and planning skills.
Must have a reliable form of transportation, personal vehicle a plus but not a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

Engage-
Answer all e-mails and phone calls from clients urgently to ensure orders are received and processed as quickly as possible.
Ask probing questions when taking in orders to upsell at the appropriate time as well as to record any special requests or needs; ensure all special requests are communicated to the kitchen and drivers as needed.
Understand and master the order processing system to ensure each order is clear and executable for the production team.
Learn the menu in detail, each ingredient, recipe, and seasonal item to be able to deliver best in class service to each client.
Through e-mails and phone calls convey the highest levels of professionalism and clear communication.

Collaborate-
 Be the “Expo” of your yours ensure presentation is perfect, every detail is attended to, nothing is missed, and the hand off to the delivery driver is seamless and on time.
 Work with the catering production team and catering drivers to execute orders daily doing whatever it takes to get orders out on time and to the client’s specifications.
 Support other catering assistants when needed due to heavy order volume.
 Support the Culinary Director and Catering Sales Manager during any events both in house and externally to drive awareness of the brand.
 Provide feedback to the Catering Sales Manager and Production Manager if there are opportunities to make the catering program stronger.

Inspire-
 Demonstrate the model of guest first, food first service and exceed guest expectations through personal interaction and addressing guest needs
 Connect to the Taylor Gourmet story of small batch recipes and a from scratch kitchen to convey the values in Taylor Gourmet product to prospective catering clients.
 Approach each day with a positive outlook to overcome challenges and provide excellence service no matter what.
