Role OverviewWe are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Supervisor to join our team and work 25-35 hours per week. As a Supervisor at Aldgate Tap, you will support the management team in day-to-day pub operations, lead shifts on the floor and behind the bar, and ensure our high service and cellar standards are maintained at all times.
Key ResponsibilitiesShift Leadership: Lead and support bar staff during shifts, ensuring high service standards, speed, and positive team energy.
Cellar & Cask Care: Manage draft lines, keep the bar stock tidy, and utilize basic cask knowledge to handle, tap, and maintain real ales.
Customer Experience: Greet guests, handle customer feedback professionally, and maintain a warm, welcoming pub environment.
Operational Duties: Manage opening and closing procedures, shift cash handling, till reconciliation, and daily cleaning checklists.
Compliance: Ensure all food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations (including Challenge 25) are strictly followed.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced pub, bar, or hospitality supervisory/senior team member role.
Cask & Beer Knowledge: Basic understanding of real ale, cask management (conditioning, tapping, line maintenance), and draft beer care.
Leadership Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate a team and stay calm under pressure during busy peak hours.
Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and key holiday periods.
Licensing: A Personal License holder is a bonus, but not essential.
Competitive hourly wage of £14.00 per hour and £2/h average in tips.
