We are looking for an experienced Night Shift Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the hotel operates safely, efficiently and seamlessly overnight, maintaining high engineering standards and supporting an exceptional guest experience. Working closely with the wider Engineering and operational teams, you will respond to maintenance requirements, support compliance and ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently throughout the night.

This is a full-time onsite role, 40 hours per week, working 10-hour shifts from 10pm - 8am, four nights per week including weekends.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the Engineering Team, ensuring smooth overnight operations and safety compliance.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities across the hotel.
• Ensure guest satisfaction through efficient and effective technical support.
• Support sustainability initiatives and energy-saving projects.
• Respond promptly to technical issues, faults and maintenance requests during the night shift.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance and engineering standards.
• Work collaboratively with operational departments to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and the hotel operates seamlessly overnight.
• Complete relevant engineering records, handovers and compliance documentation accurately.
• Escalate significant technical or safety issues appropriately and liaise with contractors or the wider Engineering Team when required.
• Maintain a professional and visible presence, providing technical support to colleagues and guests as required.

About You

You will have previous engineering or maintenance experience, ideally within a luxury hotel or similar hospitality environment, with practical technical knowledge and a confident, solutions-focused approach.

Working independently overnight, you will take pride in maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and operational performance while responding calmly and efficiently to technical issues.

You bring a collaborative approach, strong attention to detail and a commitment to luxury hospitality and guest satisfaction.

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience in an engineering or maintenance role, ideally within a luxury hotel environment.
• Good practical knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety and related maintenance.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems [BMS] is advantageous.
• Knowledge of KnowCross and Alert65 is advantageous; training can be provided.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to work independently during the night shift.
• A strong understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
• A passion for sustainability, luxury hospitality and guest satisfaction.
• A flexible and reliable approach to night working, including weekends.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working hours and operational demands.
