Job description
• Greets all guests immediately upon their entrance.
• Seats Guests and presents them with clean menus.
• Seats Guests in rotation amongst Servers to ensure Servers are given an equal number of tables unless Guest requests a specific table and/or Server.
• Updates the floor chart continuously throughout the shift.
• Collects menus and returns them to the Host Area.
• Accurately quotes wait times when there are no available tables.
• Answers phone calls (within 3 rings) and questions regarding location and menu items.
• Throughout the shift, always ensure that the front door area is both clean and maintained, both inside and out. This includes making sure windows are free of smudge and fingerprint.
• Keeps the Host Area stocked with promotional items, toothpicks, take-away menus, business cards and any other necessary items.
• Wishes the guest a warm farewell and invites them to return.
• Follows all cleanliness and sanitation procedures including frequent hand-washing.
• Notifies a manager immediately if a guest or team member is injured or has a complaint.
• Follows all policies and procedures with the Team Member Handbook.
• Maintains professional, composed and calm demeanor at all times.
• Assists in an entire team effort.
