Urban Pubs, Bars and Restaurants are currently recruiting for a talented and highly skilled Assistant General Manager with personality & charisma for our expanding group. With an eclectic mix of properties and new openings to suit your personality and style, this really is an exciting time to join a people focused and progressive operations led business.

We're looking for a service focused DGM for the Duchess of Kensington, a recent new opening that has out-stripped all expectations, particularly on food. The ideal candidate should enjoy premium service, have a good knowledge of fresh food and seasonality, and enjoy selling good wine and enhancing dining experiences, as well as having all the core skills of a pub deputy general manager on the wet side of the business. 

The Duchess of Kensington is an elegant pub located in the heart of Kensington, a stone’s throw from the Royal Albert Hall.
Offering a menu of elevated pub classics, strong passing trade and the draw of a nearby landmarks, expect a fast-paced all-day trade with a high food mix giving way to wet led evening in Kensington’s newest and most stylish pub.

The Role

• As Deputy General Manager you will support the General Manager in all aspects of running the venue as if it were your own business. 
• Be business savvy and demonstrate great commercial acumen. 
• Your team will look up to you, it's essential to train, nurture and develop your staff to maintain incredibly high standards and customer satisfaction.
• You will be given the opportunity to train, personally develop and progress your career as the company continues to grow.

What we looking for:

• "Wear your heart on your sleave", take ownership, be bold and run the business as if it's your own
• Be cool, calm and collected, manage pressure with ease, nothing can phase you
• Must have minimum 2 years’ experience as a manager depending on the property being looked at
• Solid communication and organisational skills, be approachable
• Superb customer & floor service skills
• Strong all-round business knowledge from financials to customer satisfaction
• An entrepreneurial flare
• Passionate about people, training, mentoring, growing a team but most importantly, loves to have fun
• Personal License holder beneficial
