We are looking for a talented and driven Senior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and help lead the delivery of consistently outstanding food for our guests.
Role Overview
As Senior Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, from leading and developing the brigade to ensuring high culinary standards, cost control, and smooth day-to-day operations. You will play a key role in menu development, seasonal specials, and maintaining the reputation of The Grazing Goat as a destination for high-quality, freshly prepared food.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service across breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Lead, train, and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive environment.
Uphold Cubitt House food standards, ensuring every dish meets our quality and presentation expectations.
Contribute to menu planning, including seasonal specials and innovative dishes.
Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
Monitor stock levels, complete ordering, and assist with cost control to meet GP targets.
Step up and run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-quality gastro pub, restaurant, or hotel.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
A passion for fresh, seasonal British produce and creative menu development.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to thrive under pressure.
Knowledge of HACCP and food safety best practices.
