The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at The Grazing Goat, one of Marylebone’s most loved destinations. Just moments from Hyde Park and Oxford Street, this characterful Regency townhouse combines the charm of a country inn with the buzz of central London. Guests return for our oak-panelled interiors, roaring fires, boutique bedrooms, and seasonal British menus served with style and soul.

As Senior Sous Chef, you’ll work alongside the Head Chef to lead a talented brigade, delivering fresh, seasonal dishes to the highest standard. Your role will include supporting with menu development, creating daily specials, maintaining impeccable food quality, and driving operational excellence. This is an opportunity to bring creativity and leadership to a venue celebrated for its Sunday roasts, all-day dining, and private dining experiences—all in a setting where quality and hospitality truly matter.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations across breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Lead, train and mentor the brigade, fostering a positive and high-performing environment.
  • Uphold Cubitt House standards, ensuring every dish is delivered with consistency, quality and style.
  • Contribute to menu development, including seasonal specials and innovative new dishes.
  • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
  • Oversee stock management, ordering and cost control to achieve GP targets.
  • Step up and run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a premium gastro pub, restaurant or hotel.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • A passion for fresh, seasonal British produce and creative menu development.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety best practice.
