Job description
WHO:
We need a Bar Manager who’s great with people, is an expert in food, drink and service and can manage and lead a close-knit team, as well as overseeing the profitability of the departments.

THEY SHOULD:
- Be a hands-on manager who leads from the front
- Be knowledgeable about food and drink and good at developing others
- Be personable and engaging
- Have natural rapport and be able to strike up relationships with our guests
- Have an eye for sales and help develop the business
- Encourage a strong working relationship between front of house and kitchen staff
- Be organised, motivated and take ownership of the department, including accountability of stock and GP's
- Pro-actively recruit, train and develop a team that show passion and commitment
- Have management experience in a similar environment

WHERE:
The Imperial Torquay is a magnificent 19th Century 152-bedroom Victorian four-star hotel, and offers breath taking sea views, plus a host of leisure facilities, making it fun and picturesque location to work in.
Just a short walk from the main train station and town centre, the hotel is really accessible for our employees. Some staff car parking is available on site, as is free use of all the hotel's leisure facilities, including our gym and swimming pools.

WE WANT WORK TO BE A PLEASURE
We’re a people business — our success relies on the skills and happiness of every one of our team. That’s why we invest in your training and development and promote from within. We depend on your personality and enthusiasm for hospitality… and we offer all sorts in return. We must be doing things right — we were recently awarded AA Hotel Group of the Year.
We can offer careers across our collection of hotels ... or just a great place to work locally. For some senior roles, we may look for relevant experience, but for other jobs we just want the right character and attitude — we’ll teach you the rest.

AND…
Our team are entitled to tasty discounts on food and drink, as well as preferential rates at our hotels for themselves, friends and family. They can also take advantage of High Street discounts via our bespoke employee shopping website, as well as childcare vouchers, a cycle to work scheme, and various other performance-related perks.
Our Employee Assistance Programme is on hand to provide personal help and support if and when it’s needed.
