SUMMARY
Lead all daily housekeeping
operations and deliver a Five-star, Five-diamond experience to all guests. Maintaining
all aspects of the entire facility ensures a luxury experience. Serve as the
leader of the housekeeping department by motivating the housekeeping team and
promoting exceptional cleanliness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assure staff compliance with departmental and community
policies and procedures.
- Assure all assignments are completed correctly and in
line with expectations at the Inn at Little Washington and supervisory
guidelines in keeping with a five-star quality establishment.
- Organize and maintain reports needed for efficient
management of departmental duties.
- Communicate effectively the general issues and specific
expectations as needed.
- Assist in training staff within facility guidelines and
culture.
- Ensure work assignment schedules are carried out in an
efficient, fair and quality manner
- Assist in the preparation of written employee
performance evaluations and initiate recommendations for salary
increases, promotions, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Promote teamwork and cooperation among staff and with
other operational departments.
- Cultivate a culture of care and service throughout
staff and community.
- Maintain good inter-departmental and employee
relations.
- Always observe safe facility practices.
- Distribute
checklists to housekeepers, house attendants and supervisors
- Delegate
projects to housekeeping team and monitor to ensure all projects are
completed
- Assist
the Rooms Operations Manager to oversee all housekeeping operations, which
include, but not limited to, seeing that all assigned projects are
completed, managing day-to-day operations, ensure all housekeeping
employees are meeting the Forbes Standards, develop goals and objectives to
improve the department and ensure all housekeeping employees are compliant
with the quality assurance expectations.
- Oversee the daily
operations of housekeeping to ensure that all housekeeping employees are
completing the daily checklist.
- Lead hiring,
training and onboarding of all new hires.
- Train new staff
to be compliant with quality assurance expectations and meet Forbes Standards.
- Assist in daily
operations as needed, which include, but not limited to, making beds, cleaning
rooms, vacuuming, dusting, maintaining the public areas, disposing of trash in
the guestrooms and different buildings and mopping.
- Monitor the
staffing levels to ensure it meets the demand.
- Complete a weekly
inventory of housekeeping supplies to ensure that PAR levels are being
maintained.
- Must be
financially responsible, which include, but not limited to, ensuring the
Housekeeping department checkbook is updated, staying within the monthly budget
provided by Accounting, consistently tracking housekeeping labor to meet the
labor budget and strategically upkeeping the PAR levels for housekeeping
supplies
- Observe fiscal responsibility in purchases conducted on
behalf of the department.
- Ability to take
constructive criticism to help improve faults
- Inspect all
guestrooms and public areas to ensure it meets 5 star/5 diamond standards
- Arrange and lead
department meetings.
- Maintain positive
relationship with suppliers and vendors.
- Communicate maintenance
issues or repair of items related to guestrooms and public areas to the
Engineering department.
- Work closely with
Director of Facilities and Front Office Manager to complete any projects that
need attention
- Must meet Forbes
Standards in all daily operations and guest interactions
- Be anticipatory
of guest needs and respond to guest inquiries in a timely and professional
manner.
- Effectively coach
and counsel housekeeping employees
- Complete annual
performance evaluations for the Housekeeping department
- Complete all
room-related special requests
- Must maintain
professional etiquette with all guests and employees
- Be knowledgeable
of all hotel services, hotel features, local attractions and history of the
Inn, and be able to speak to these when guest inquires
- Must
greet all guests as though you are welcoming them to your own home
Complete all
projects assigned by the Director of Hotel Operations
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Adhere to attendance and scheduling
requirements.
- Accept additional duties as necessary in a
cooperative manner.
- Observe fiscal responsibility in use of The Inn
at Little Washington resources and purchases made on behalf of The Inn at
Little Washington.
- Must supervise and
lead all disinfecting and sanitization policies
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 2-3 years of Housekeeping
Supervisor experience
- Must be able to work
weekends and have a flexible work schedule
- Microsoft Office
knowledge
- Excellent
communication skills
- Must be at least 16
years of age
- Must be well-groomed
and well-presented with no visible tattoos
Desirable
- Familiarity with Forbes Standards
- Ability to communicate with a language other
than English, preferably Spanish or French
- Prior experience in a 4 or 5 star luxury
property
SKILLS
- Ability to
communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal
communication skills both verbal and written
- Must always be
organized and maintain cleanliness of the Housekeeping office
- Ability to
