POSITION SUMMARY:

The Concierge/Itinerary Designer is responsible for developing The Inn at Little Washington programming for activities and curated experiences.  This would include, but not be limited to, introducing new experiences/activities, pre-arrival outreach, booking and choreographing guest experiences at The Inn at Little Washington. Additionally, Concierge responds to all guest requests in a timely efficient manner by accurately assessing their needs and adding personalized recommendations. When called upon, the Concierge will also act as a Front Desk Agent.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.       Work closely with GM and Director of Rooms to develop a minimum of 2-3 new Curated Experiences per year. 

2.       Demonstrate constant curiosity surrounding what types of activities and experiences are most resonating for our guest

3.       Ensure that all offerings are easy for guests to book and not overly time consuming

4.       Handles wide variety of guest requests, handling all interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism and accommodating special requests whenever possible; resolve customer complaints; assist customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc.

5.       Become the property expert with deep knowledge of activities are available in the surrounding area (theatre, hiking, wineries, antique stores, concerts, shows, special exhibits, sightseeing) and establish close contacts with vendors in these areas in order to provide information, ticketing, and reservations for guests.

6.       Ensure all guest touch point meet our brand standards

7.       Utilize a variety of software programs to accurately input special arrangements the guest has made and to assure proper billing.

8.       Work closely with Front Desk, Reservations and Valet Parking to assure smooth handling of guest arrivals and departures.

9.       Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence of or due to heavy volume in the areas of the lobby coverage and door as requested.

10.    Answer the phone promptly. Responds to questions, directs calls, or takes messages as appropriate.

11.    Responds appropriately to emergencies by calling or contacting appropriate internal and external parties, according to established protocol. Assists with disaster management efforts and activities during evacuations (i.e., fires, hurricanes, etc.).

12.    Answer the phone promptly. Responds to questions, directs calls, or takes messages as appropriate.

13.    This position is a strong ambassador for The Inn in all their interactions with our guests – those staying overnight in one of our beautiful guest suites, as well as those dining with us in our world-famous dining room.

14.    Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and meet the expectations of a 5 Star/5 Diamond property by providing top guest service skills.

15.    Work closely with both the Dining Room and Culinary team to ensure all guest requests are communicated.

16.    Must meet Forbes Standards in all daily operations and guest interactions.

17.    Demonstrate proficiency with Resortsuite and Tock software.

18.    Be anticipatory of guest needs and respond to guest inquiries promptly and professionally.

19.    Must maintain professional etiquette with all guests and employees.

20.    Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Inn and its history. 


QUALIFICATIONS


Required

1.       Microsoft Office knowledge

2.       Excellent communication skills

3.       Must be at least 21 years of age.

4.       Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos.

5.       Prior experience working in a hotel as a Concierge or Front Desk Agent

 

 

Desirable

 

1.       Familiarity with Forbes Standards

2.       Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French

3.       Strong local knowledge

4.       Certification in CPR, First Aid

5.       Prior experience with Resortsuite and Tock

 

SKILLS

1.       Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.

2.       Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.

3.       Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of the front desk.

4.       Ability to speak using clear and professional language.

5.       Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

6.       Ability to process all payments, including credit card, cash, and gift certificates.

7.       Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed.

8.       Ability to assist guests with questions about the property, history of the Inn, surrounding areas and the amenities and packages offered at the Inn.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


1.       Must be able to lift 25+ lbs.

2.       Able to stand, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
