Summary
The Maintenance Attendant supports the day-to-day upkeep and functionality of the property by performing general maintenance and repair tasks across various areas including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry. This hands-on role is ideal for a reliable, skilled generalist who enjoys working on a variety of tasks and keeping systems running smoothly. The ideal candidate has a solid base of maintenance experience, a problem-solving mindset, and a strong work ethic.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform general maintenance duties across the property in areas such as light electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC filter changes, minor carpentry, and general upkeep.
2. Assist in routine preventive maintenance and support record-keeping of maintenance logs.
3. Respond promptly to guest and department service requests in a courteous and professional manner.
4. Support senior engineers with more technical tasks as needed.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the engineering workspace, tools, and mechanical areas.
6. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance needs.
7. Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to provide a safe, comfortable environment for guests and staff.
8. Assist with emergency responses, such as basic fire safety procedures or power outages.
Qualifications
1. 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance or facility experience preferred (hotel/hospitality experience a plus).
2. Familiarity with tools, equipment, and common repair methods.
3. Strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn.
4. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
5. Basic understanding of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and the ability to perform routine repairs.
6. Guest service focus, with a can-do attitude.
7. Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge/skills required
8. Strong communication & organizational skills
9. Ability to work independently
10. Time management skills
11. Ability to perform routine building maintenance tasks
12. Working knowledge of hand and power tools required
13. Must have a clean and valid driver's license
Physical Demands
1. Able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds
2. Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day
3. Capable of ascending ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet
4. Fire Safety and Basic CPR/First Aid training (First Responds Team) or willing to get training
