SUMMARY 

The HVAC & Commercial Appliance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the comfort, safety, and functionality of our luxury destination. This position is dedicated to the preventive maintenance, repair, and improvement of all HVAC systems and commercial kitchen equipment across the property. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician with deep knowledge of water-sourced heat pumps, commercial refrigeration, and appliances, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime for guest-facing and back-of-house operations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on all HVAC systems including water-sourced heat pumps, air handlers, and split systems.
  • Maintain and repair commercial refrigeration equipment such as walk-in freezers, low-boy coolers, and ice machines.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen appliances including convection ovens, combi ovens, and ranges.
  • Conduct routine inspections and adjustments to maximize system efficiency and extend equipment life.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance in the CMMS system.
  • Work closely with outside vendors/contractors for specialized repairs and oversee their work to meet our standards.
  • Ensure all mechanical rooms and service areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Respond promptly to service calls from other departments in a professional and guest-focused manner.
  • Support sustainability efforts by identifying and implementing energy efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies related to HVAC and kitchen equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5 years of direct HVAC and/or commercial appliance repair experience required (hospitality or resort environment strongly preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • Water-sourced heat pumps
  • Walk-in freezers and commercial refrigeration systems
  • Low-boy coolers and ice machines
  • Commercial ovens, ranges, and combi-ovens
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and execution.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Guest service–oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must have a clean and valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds.
  • Able to stand, walk, and perform physical work for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Comfortable working in hot, cold, and confined spaces.
  • Capable of ascending ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet.
  • Fire Safety and Basic CPR/First Aid training (or willingness to obtain).
