POSITION SUMMARY
We
are seeking a highly capable, self-directed maintenance professional to serve
as Engineer on Duty during evening operations. This role is the sole
engineering presence on property during second shift and is responsible for
maintaining the safety, functionality, and presentation of the facility.
This position operates with a high degree of independence and serves as the
lead engineering authority on-site during evening hours. The ideal candidate is
a well-rounded technician who can diagnose issues quickly, execute repairs
across multiple trades, and make sound decisions in real time.
This role supports a high-end hospitality environment with exacting standards, where responsiveness and quality of work directly impact the guest experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Serve as the primary engineering contact on property during evening operations
2. Respond to guest room and departmental service requests with urgency and professionalism
3. Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems
4. Act as first responder for facility-related emergencies
5. Conduct evening property inspections and proactively address issues
6. Complete nightly logs and shift reports
7. Support building closure procedures and security checks
8. Execute and support preventive maintenance tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
1. 5+ years of building maintenance, facilities, or hospitality engineering experience preferred
2. Demonstrated ability to work independently across multiple trades
3. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
4. Ability to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities
5. Professional demeanor and strong guest-service mindset
6. Reliable, accountable, and self-directed
7. Weekend and holiday availability required
8. Hospitality or resort experience strongly preferred
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
1. Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
2. Trade or vocational training (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
3. OSHA safety training
4. CPR / First Aid
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds
2. Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day
3. Capable of ascending ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet
4. Available for emergency response and rotating on-call coverage
