Understanding of HACCP
Description

To support the Technical Manager to ensure Absolute Taste & Absolute Food comply with all current legislation and customer requirements.

Job is office based at Absolute Taste/food. This role is 12 months fixed term maternity cover.

Key Activities & Responsibilities:

1) Prepare and participate with the smooth running of all audits and visitors attending site.

2) Attend factory trials, ensure all NPD documentation is captured. Ensuring trial samples are sent for microbiological shelf life testing and the organoleptic assessment of products is completed throughout life. For product launches, ensuring factory recipes, key cards and other relevant documentation is available – Specifications and Labels.

3) Promote a culture of quality achievement and performance improvement through a team based environment with the NPD and manufacturing teams.

4) Assist with ensuring all equipment requiring calibration is sent in a timely manner to maintain the site calibration matrix.

5) Ad-Hoc duties including helping Technical team with holiday / absence cover.

6) Conduct checks and auditing of internal departments when required.

7) To compile and maintain quality systems as required.

8) In accordance with site schedules, complete GMP, fabrication, hygiene and internal audits and close out any resulting actions with relevant departments in a timely manner.

9) Log, investigate and follow-up on all customer complaints and resolve internal and external issues as required with support of the technical team.

10) In accordance with site schedules, completion of environmental and listeria swabs, water samples, shelf-life verifications. Results to be reviewed and documented with any corrective action plans put into place.

11) Ensure all equipment requiring calibration is actioned in accordance with existing processes and plans.

12) Liaise with production management team to ensure all paperwork is correct ready for sign-off and issue.

13) Daily checks in line with existing processes are completed within both high and low care, upstairs and downstairs.

  • Previous Technical experience of working in a chilled RTE food manufacturer.
  • Customer focused and solutions driven
  • Knowledge of all relevant food safety legislation, HACCP and the current BRC standard
  • Understanding of HACCP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT Literate.
  • Strongly self-motivated
  • Flexible working approach
  • Accurate and concise
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and good observation skills
