We’re looking for a Quality Assurance & Compliance professional to help us uphold the highest standards across our operations.

Role Purpose

The Quality Assurance & Compliance role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving quality systems to ensure all products meet legal, customer, and company requirements. This role will drive compliance with food safety standards, support audits, and ensure operational teams follow best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular factory, warehouse, and supplier audits to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitor product quality, including visual checks, label verification, and packaging inspections.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain product traceability systems and support product recalls or withdrawals if necessary.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with UK/EU food legislation, BRCGS standards, and retailer codes of practice.
  • Maintain and update quality management system documentation, SOPs, and policies.
  • Support internal and external audits (including customer visits).
  • Review supplier certification and ensure ongoing compliance with approval requirements.

Training & Support

  • Deliver training to operational teams on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical queries from customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Promote a culture of quality and compliance across the business.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas for improvement in quality processes and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, NPD, technical) to enhance product and process quality.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a quality or compliance role within the food industry.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, and quality management systems.
  • Experience with BRCGS and customer audit requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
