About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Night Shift Manager to oversee night operations within our transportation department. This is a key leadership role within our logistics operation, responsible for managing the transport function during night shifts and ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of our service.

Shift patterns: Working on a 4 nights on/ 4 nights off pattern

Location: Bicester

Key Responsibilities of the Night Shift Manager:

  • Supervise and coordinate night shift transportation activities, ensuring all operations adhere to company policies and safety standards.
  • Manage daily scheduling, routing, and dispatching of drivers and vehicles to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor driver performance, conduct regular safety checks, and provide coaching or corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including vehicle maintenance and driver hours of service.
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigate any safety or operational issues that arise during the shift.
  • Maintain accurate records of shift activities, vehicle logs, and incident reports for compliance purposes.
  • Lead team meetings, provide training opportunities, and foster a positive work environment focused on safety and teamwork.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in transportation management or logistics coordination, preferably in a night-shift environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of drivers and support staff.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in scheduling and record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and vehicle maintenance standards.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, other departments, and external partners.
  • Previous experience with fleet management software and familiarity with route optimisation tools.
  • A valid driver’s license is required- and National and/or International CPC
