We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to lead our outstanding team. This individual will be responsible for managing and inspiring the bar team while contributing to the development of new and innovative offerings at the bar. As Bar Manager, you will be integral in ensuring our guests have an exceptional, memorable experience, setting the standard for service and creativity at the bar. This position reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager.

Location: The Montague on the Gardens, London 

Employment Type: Full-time 

Working Pattern: Shift work (5 days on, 2 days off) 

Salary: Competitive + service charge

The Montague on the Gardens Hotel part of the Red Carnation Hotels, is a four star deluxe hotel located in the heart of London’s elegant Bloomsbury. This Georgian townhouse features 100 individually designed bedrooms and suites, a Leopard Bar, the Blue Door Bistro restaurant, a wood deck terrace and several function rooms. It is famous for al-fresco dining, including an alpine themed Ski Lodge in the winter and a Hawaiian Beach Bar in the summer. 

Key Responsibilities of a Bar Manager: 

  • Ensure a prompt, professional, and personalised service for every guest, always maintaining the highest standards.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of bartenders, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the menu and delivering exceptional service.
  • Develop and expand your team’s knowledge of the menu, providing guidance on drinks, cocktail suggestions, and luxury hotel offerings.
  • Work closely with management to plan new ideas and trends for the bar, ensuring the bar remains a top destination for guests.
  • Oversee the day-to-day cleanliness, organisation, and stock levels, ensuring the bar is always ready for service.
  • Collaborate with management to drive sales, meet financial targets, and contribute to the overall success of the bar.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager or Assistant Manager, ideally in a high-end or luxury hospitality environment.
  • A natural leader who can inspire, guide, and develop a team to deliver exceptional service.
  • A passion for creating innovative drink experiences and staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with both guests and the team.
  • Ability to maintain a well-organised, efficient, and stocked bar, with attention to detail.
