Only a 1h45min train ride from London, The Newt in Somerset has ancient woodland, historic gardens and far reaching views. It is a unique destination with Hotel, Spa, Restaurants and much more. Visitors can take a tour of the gardens, deer park and cyder press, dine in the Garden Café and visit our farm shop. Expecting to attract some 150,000 visitors per year, The Newt in Somerset is a vibrant and thriving attraction, animated throughout the seasons by special events, workshops and education programmes.




Department Description


Our Spa is no ordinary Hotel Spa! With guest wellbeing at the fore, It sets its own standards through unparalleled design, carefully selected to celebrate the surroundings. Rich in style with Medieval Herb Garden, an extensive array of breath-taking thermal and water facilities including Hammam, Rasul, Halotherapy Room, Picture Window Sauna and Indoor/Outdoor Wild pool with hydrotherapy. We have seven treatment rooms, which include spaces for Manicure and Pedicure. Products eventually will be made especially to our specific requirements, with our own ingredients. We encourage our therapists to build relationships with our guests and to be able to provide signature therapies of the highest quality.


 

Position Summary


We are seeking a spa host with a strong skill set in personalised customer service, reception duties and a high standard in daily operations. You have an authentic and warm, yet professional personality and you can easily connect to your guests. You are able to see to our guests needs and concerns at a holistic level and are genuinely interested in their wellbeing. It lies within your nature to contribute through a highly dedicated and personalised customer service.


This is a role for a self-motivated, confident and personable individual with outstanding attention to detail. Demonstrating an open mind and high capacity for flexibility in a work-environment that is set to grow. Ensuring all guest needs are looked after during their experience with us in the spa and on the estate. Adhering to SOPs and company policy. Sharing your knowledge with the team and maintain excellent hygiene in your working environment.  



Key Responsibilities


  • Being the first point of contact for the spa
  • Welcome guests on arrival and taking care of them during their stay in the spa, proactively assisting them with enquiries
  • Make bookings for spa treatments and other guest experiences on the Estate
  • Provide guests with an orientation of the facilities
  • Upsell spa products
  • Maintain high hygiene standards throughout the spa
  • Laundry- and other housekeeping duties in the spa
  • Serve snacks, tea and coffee
  • Respond to requests, pre-empting any further enquires guests may have
  • Manage guest expectations
  • To have a full knowledge of the services and products that the estate offers. Training provided.
  • Process payments and paperwork
  • Assist colleagues & other departments where required
  • Shift- and weekend work 


Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years reception/customer service experience, ideally in a luxury spa, wellbeing or fitness environment
  • Highly self-motivated with initiative and genuine interest in guest satisfaction
  • Personable
  • Speaks fluent English
  • Physically fit
  • Good Microsoft office and computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding time management
  • Problem solving skills and innovative thinking
  • Strong teamworking skills and enjoying working in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and work with a variety of new and exciting offers
