Prep Chef at Cubitt House

Shifts: Monday to Friday days, start and finish times can be flexible from 7am through to 5pm, up to 50 hours per week

Pay Rate: £10.50-£12 per hour dependent on experience. Bonuses and incentives earned on top.

Working with the very best produce, among a team of passionate chefs. As a Prep Chef at Cubitt House you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Kitchen team to assist with the preparation of produce used in the final cooking and presentation of dishes. 

The Prep Chef role is to support in the running of the kitchen, by making sure that the chefs have all the food prep needed to run a great shift and you support the maintenance of a clean and safe kitchen. 

You will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the Senior Chefs, completing daily prep lists and cleaning tasks to support the smooth running of the kitchen and the delivery of our gastro pub menus. 

Reports to: Senior Chef on duty. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Complete preparation of produce as instructed 
  • Support chefs during service as required
  • Adhere to the cleaning schedule for the kitchen 
  • Maintaining stock rotation when taking in deliveries and using produce 
  • Good Knowledge of produce and basic preparation techniques, that can be developed through this role into a more senior position in the kitchen over time.
  • To comply with legal requirements under the H&S act 1974 and food hygiene
  • Adherence to all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programmes.
  •  Work to maintain EHO 5 star rating through compliance with all standards and procedures, ensuring colleagues under you are doing the same.
  • Be organized and motivated, keen to assist colleagues
  • Possess a good command of the English language and excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • To follow company policies and management directions
  • To ensure that you attend all training, briefings and team meetings 

·       To complete all online training requirements in the time frame set out for your role.
