Description

If you live for the moment a dessert lands on the pass looking exactly as you imagined it, we would love to meet you.

The Twenty Two is a luxury boutique hotel and private members club set within a restored townhouse on Grosvenor Square, in the heart of Mayfair. Behind the doors is one of London's most talked-about pastry kitchens, creating plated restaurant desserts, afternoon tea, viennoiserie, petit fours, and exceptional pastry for private events. Every plate is an occasion, and pastry is where much of the magic happens.

We are looking for a talented Pastry Chef that is based in London to join our team. Whether you are developing your career or already have significant experience, this is an opportunity to work alongside an exceptional pastry team in a celebrated London property that takes craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail seriously. We are recruiting for positions based on your experience.

A day in the pastry kitchen

No two days are the same. One service you might be finishing delicate petit fours for a private members' event, the next you are plating restaurant desserts, preparing afternoon tea, laminating viennoiserie, or supporting the creation of seasonal pastry menus.

Working closely with the pastry team, you will play an important part in delivering beautiful, consistent products while maintaining the highest standards of quality, organisation, and teamwork.

What you will be doing

  • Preparing and presenting pastry, desserts, viennoiserie, breads, and petit fours to the highest standards.
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the pastry kitchen across the restaurant, afternoon tea, room service, and private events.
  • Maintaining excellent mise en place and ensuring your section is organised, clean, and ready for service.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider pastry team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Contributing ideas to seasonal menus and supporting product development where appropriate.
  • Depending on your level of experience, helping to train, mentor, and support junior chefs.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management at all times.

What you will bring

  • Ideally three years of previous pastry experience within a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or high-quality hospitality environment.
  • A genuine passion for pastry and a commitment to producing work of exceptional quality.
  • Strong technical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to remain calm, organised, and consistent in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and allergen management.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom.

Why The Twenty Two

  • A creative, supportive pastry team within one of London's most distinctive hospitality destinations.
  • Genuine opportunities for training, development, and career progression, with roles available across the pastry brigade.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package, aligned with your experience.
  • The opportunity to work with passionate professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional food and unforgettable guest experiences.

The Twenty Two is an equal opportunities employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members.
